WE NEED YOU!!
To become a volunteer or join the committee
Newlands Community Group is a not-for-profit organisation, all of it's members including committee members are volunteers.
All of these people live in the Newlands and Berewood area, and they give up their time to raise funds, find donations, talk to businesses and other members of the community so that we can provide events, help and information, and other services for their fellow neighbours.
If you think you can spare some time to help others in any capacity, then please complete the form to sign up as a volunteer.
Better still you may think you have some amazing ideas and you would like to become a committee member, then please complete the form. We would be very happy to hear from you.
Our Committee Needs to Expand, and YOU can help!
Our current Terms of Reference allow for 15 committee members as well as volunteers. Each committee member is expected to attend the monthly meetings but outside of that commitment the level of involvement is discretionary and much of the work can be done remotely.
Specifically, we are looking for:
Vice-chair: To manage meetings and act on behalf of the chair in their absence. To take the lead on certain projects and liaise with external parties such as the councils and other community groups. The vice-chair will work closely with the chair but is independent.
Volunteer Coordinator - To recruit and manage volunteers who assist the group on an ad-hoc basis.
We currently have in place The Chair, Communications Officer, Treasurer, Events Coordinator, and four general committee members with no specific duties, except Brian who is our deputy safe-guarding officer.
On the volunteer front (of which we are all volunteers) it would be useful if we had a couple of first aiders and maybe people with marshal / stewarding experience.
If you think you may be interested in any of these roles or you think someone else may be suited then please let us know.
